Christmas is celebrated in a lot of different ways around the world. I live in the USA and I celebrate Christmas a lot different that people in another country might. Many people in the United States decorate Christmas trees and their houses, visit family and friends, and give and get gifts. This is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Christmas is celebrated in Egypt. About 15% of it´s population are Christians. Christmas is celebrated on December 7. The month leading up to Christmas is called Kiahk. People sing special praise songs before Sunday mass. On the 43 days before Christmas, people fast and eat vegan meals. They don´t eat anything that comes from animals.
Christmas is celebrated in China. Only about 1% of it´s population are Christians but Christmas is still celebrated. In big cities there are Christmas tree, lights, and other decorations. But most people don´t have a tree at home. Santa is called Shen Dan Lao Ren.
